Artist Statement
Iwas born in the small town of Trail B.C. - amongst the mountains &waters of Western Canada - in a time & place of freedom to dream& play without restrictions. After a typical Canadian childhood,I graduated & began my life as an artist.
My inspirationalart trips to Europe - for extended lengths of time for up to a year -to study the Master Artist's techiques and artwork has been mygreatest influence. I blend the rich browns from Holland with theFrench whites upon the golds & textures of Italy together on thecanvas to create unique art pieces.
Theoils are applied to a base texture of marble dust & leafing inthin glazes of up to 100 layers to achieve the intense depth ofcolour. Long days over a period of 3-6 weeks are required for eachpainting to complete.
Theartwork has been collected in Canada, United States, England &Italy. The paintings are a reflection of my life's journey over thepast 40 years.
